Like other basketball players at La Pine Middle School, Matthew Stone has goals to make a basket for the team, but as his mother Pat Stone explains, her son's story is different.

"Matthew has Down syndrome," she said, "so his agility and his mental alertness and just his development is slower than the rest of the kids. So it's a challenge to keep up with all the kids."
