Special Olympics gives athletes chance PDF Print E-mail
Friday was a good day for 26-year-old Amy Latiolais. The sun shone brightly, the breeze was cool and she won her heat at the Special Olympics.

"Yes," she screamed when she realized she came in first. But, to her, it was no surprise. Moments earlier, as the competitors waited for their turn to dash the 50 meters on Northside High School's track, Latiolais told the two athletes next to her - Jennifer Miller, 24, and Amy Sere, 25, - that she would be victorious.
