The Pediatric Down Syndrome
Center
The Down Syndrome Center improves the
consistency of care for children with Down syndrome, serves as a resource to other
medical professionals and strengthens the social network for families.
Our Mission
To improve the quality of life for children with Down syndrome and
their families by offering coordinated assessments, connections to
resources, education and advocacy.
The Down Syndrome Center Team
Rady Children's Hospital multidisciplinary Down
Syndrome Center provides assessments, recommendations and case
management. Lynne Bird,
M.D. is director of the Center and specializes in Pediatric
Clinical Genetics. The Down Syndrome Center team includes the
following specialists/providers: Social Worker, Occupational
Therapist, Physical Therapist, Speech-Language
Pathologist
, Developmental Specialist,
Dentist, Otolaryngologist (ENT), Ophthalmologist, Genetics Counselor Case
Manager and volunteer Family Advocates.
